When she was awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she attended York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2000. Since then, Brugel has been performing in over 60 plays, large and small. The most notable was the time she was cast as Rita in The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel played the role of the character of Rita on The Handmaid's tale which was filming over 10 years ago.
